Ok people, an upate is in order. as per Irene's suggestion and link, I went through all the steps to make sure things were being sent to the Windows Temp Internet Files. The system rebooted and all looked fine. Went back to the Avery site link as per Mr. Saxon, and opened a round label template. I was asked to do the usual, save or open, so I selected open and after a few info blanks to fill in, I got the template BUT... not before getting that DAMN message again...AARRGGGGHHHH...! Then. I selected 'save' and lo and behold I got it to my desktop without any problems, and it opened in Word as it should...go figure.

So, with that little exercise completed, it says to me that there is something WRONG with opening Word files from the net to Temp Internet Files...? Oh ya, I forgot to say that I'm trying to print to die cut ready to print Avery labels that are 3/4" in diameter as a test till I can get bigger ones.

If we cannot find a work 'round for this damn 'ERROR' message, I will be forced to just download the templates rather than working from one opened 'on-site' so to speak. Hope I am making sense here as this whole thing is outa my league as I mentioned before. Give me a block o wood and a plane and we'll talk...!

I really would like to find out why I am getting this message if nothing else than to just find out WHY it's happening...

    Cheers all

Ya, thinking DOES hurt at this age...!! After much consternation, whatever that is, I think I'll live with the issue for now since I can at least download the template files to my desktop and then into Word to make the labels. The stupid error is still there if I try to do it while "In Web" so to speak, but it's too much of a bother right now, and I AIN'T gettin any younger...!

Appreciate the help and enjoy conversin with folks across the pond and "danunda". I will check in to the MS community and start usin it for more help.

    Thanks for the tip.

    Cheers, Unc

Ok unc I agree mate it is a lot of grief for some wretched problem with the M$ Word app I suppose if it works then at least you can do it and besides it isn't if you are going to printing them for a living - are you?? LOL!!

But I agree I just find some things that you would think would be real simple are so convoluted - am battling a sound card at the moment and yep mate I can't justify the time just to have headphones working.

Hope to see you in here again!! Been real nice talking to you. :)

Oh before I go have you tried the speed ups in the optimise tutorial if not - it is really good and real easy to follow.

    Optimize Windows 7[2]=Performance Maintenance

Have a try mate you will be pleasantly surprised.

All the best and if I don't see you again - happy Christmas

And all the Merryest Of Cristmases to you mate. I also have been quite chuffed with your company on this eer site. I will for sure be back again soon, as I find the folks here to be quite hospitible and helpful.

BTW, if that's a pic of you on yer profile, I had a flash in my mind's eye of Billy Connoly...!! Don't know if you have heard of him, but there is to me, a slight resemblence...must be the hair colour and beard...! I happen to have the same facial outcropping, with more than my fair share of grey/white.....!

Anyway, I will take you up on that link for optimizing, I could probably use it.

    Terah fer now,

Yep I just think Billy is the real deal my sort of humour though his travel docos have got a bit yuppy now, and yep many people have told me that I resemble him though he is about 12" taller than me I am height compromised with big yellow flat feet and I have known to quack at times LOL!!

Better chuck another log on the fire mate mind you could do with a fire out here at the moment - cold spell.

Yup, when I first heard him on an LP some years ago, I think it was called 'Riotue Assembly", I darned near chockrd ta death laughing so hard...!! I have quite a long Scottish background and I love having fun with people using my "fake" Scottish accent. Seems to work tho as people keep askin me if I just got off the boat......!

Me granfather fought in the Great War with the Scottish Highlanders, and captured a german officer and I have the Iron Cross he relieved him of. One of the few keepsakes if you will that I have of him. Still miss him to this day. I learned all my basic woodworking and mechanical skills from him. Him and I would laughour collective arses off listening to old '78's of Spike Jones and The Firehouse Five. Ahh what memories...:)

Ok John, I THINK I've done the "friend" thing on the other email, not sure tho, you know me and computer stuff,
    I'm all thumbs and arthritis......!

Cheers mate, gotta go chk out the pole positions for the U.S. F1 GP at Circuit of the Americas...brand new track...!

Hum so we have something in common grandfather wise mat mine was a driver in the Royal Artillery - lead horse - he used to have a back up driver or whatever they called them then in case he got killed I suppose. Anyway he was at the Somme, Ypres, Passchendaele ( I think this was the second of the Somme) anyhow never talked about it and had shrapnel in his legs till he died. I miss him too.

Anyway better get to that race mate - didn't know it was a brand new track cos wasn't it that one in California before? Laguna Seca? Me I like bikes best of all hence my Avatar.

    Have a good one.

BIKES...?!?! CRIKEY...I'm an ex-roadracer meself...!! I raced production based 600's for nearly 10 years. WE raced at our home track at Gimli Manitoba(look it up under MRA, Manitoba), and also at Brainerd Minnesota in the U.S.

I raced with a Kawasaki sponsorship for nearly 5 seasons, then switched to Suzuki on a 2 stroke, 4 cyl. Gamma. That thing was a Sidewinder on 2 wheels...!! It had bugger all downstairs, but when you hit 6k rpm...BAM...hold on for dear life...!! The power band was like a light switch...ALL or NOTHIN...and I'll never forget goin into turn 1 at BIR and takin a peek at the speedo, somethin you should NOT have time for, and seeing the needle comin up on 150...!!!!!! Having crashed BIG TIME the year before(hitting the underside of the pedestrian bridge in turn 9 and destoying my GPZ 550), I was a little wobbly kneed when I finished tearing thru turn one as I made my way thru the other turns comin up on 9.

I was wondering if I would have any flashbacks to the previous year's crash around the same time of year, but as I approached turn 9...NOTHIN...not even a micro-flash of the incident. Oh, well I thought, lets go RACIN...!!!

After I retired from racing full time, I refereed races for 4-5 more years, doin tech inspection for the WSBK's at Mosport for a couple years. THAT was a treat seeing the factory machines and meetin riders like Fred Merkel, Raymond Roche, Doug Polen, Carl Fogarty...to name a few. Ahhhh those were GREAT times to be sure...the smaell of Castor oil in the morning...:)...

Later mate, I have many more stories if you care to read...I'm such a blab when I get goin...!
