see file names
How do I see file names when opening word 2007 documents? I used to see them.
How do I see file names when opening word 2007 documents? I used to see them.
Do you not see them in the list of files you are trying to open, or do you not see the file name after you open a file?
Can you post a screen print showing the issue?
Thanks whs but that only shows my recent document what I’m after is the list of document that shows in open by the same name!
I'm using Office 2010 and I'm trying to figure out what your talking about. If I click on file, in word, it goes to recent and shows a list of all recent documents accessed. I can't find a way to list all documents.
This is what I found out so far, just experimenting mind you. When I open word, I have the blank page, I then click file, then it opens to the recent tab and shows all my most recently visited/viewed documents. Then I scroll down to the bottom of said page and there is an option to check the amount of viewed documents. Mine was set to 4, so I changed it to 20 then closed out word and reopened. Nothing, still the same 4 documents. So I then went to my documents folder and opened up every saved document I have, only 10, then closed them all. Then opened up word again and clicked file and it opened to recent as it should, then the 4 documents plus the 10 I opened where all showing. Not sure how long they will stay in the recent tab.
try pinning word to the start menu, then when you hover on word in the start menu it shows the recent word files open, or you could pin it to the taskbar and right clicking it will show a list of 10 recently opened documents also.
When I used to enter a file name in open I would get a list of all files by that name and be able to select the one I wanted. Now I no longer get that list. I don’t know how to be more specific!
Can you post a screen print showing what you see when you are trying to open a file?
