Flickering of cursor in Xcel and word

I just purchased Office 2010 home & student . I installed the software, no error messages. However Both in Word and in Xcel I get flickering and the little circular arrow constantly showing. Screen keeps flickering.
I do not have this problem with the poerpoint app that came with office or any other software.
Ha sanyone encountered this and is there a solution It is very annoying.

Hum thought maybe there was some corruption in a file or two.

Have you done any scans yet for malware? as Office is targeted a fair bit now?

As well as your own security try

I have norton Internet security . It scans my computer once a day.
I also have registry reviver run avery other day.
It has me baffled. It did this right from the day I installed it. It is doubtful malware would have pounced on it immediately, unless it was lurking on my computer before Office installation. I will install office on another computer I have that is not on the internet and see if that behaves differently, but it is an XP machinwe and will not really tell me much if it works without glitches.

Hello Eli one thing my friend you have an app that "plays" around in the registry and most of us do not run those sorts of apps because of the problems they create.

I use CCleaner to check the registry and then only with great caution.

It could be that app that has altered a reg entry just that tiny bit to produce what you are experiencing. Personally I wold either disbale it or get rid of it.

Also you should have had quite a few updates for the Office stuff just after you installed it - just check back for installed updates and see what has been installed there for Office.
