    Outlook tray icon question

I am trying to figure out how to get the envelope icon to appear in the tray when a new message arrives. I looked in outlook and there is a setting to show the envelope, but it doesn't show in Windows 7. It worked fine in XP. There is nothing under the customize icons for the taskbar. Any thoughts?

    Outlook question:
Also, is there a way to remove the items in the outlook tree (ex. journal, tasks, notes, etc)?

Right click the offending item (Calendar, etc)
    Navigation Pane options

    select/deselect an item

    Set this option.

This may not be necessary -
Send yourself (or otherwise recv) an email, causing the icon to appear. Once it is in the sys tray, drag it to the visible area.
