    Product Key

HI: Hope someone can help me -- I am trying to activate Microsoft Office 60 day trial in the Activation Assistant box, but when I attempt to type in the (25 digit) Product Key which I retrieved from the side of the tower of my desktop, no letters show up in the 'OEM Key' display box in step one.

Could it be maybe that it's been sitting on my desktop for a couple of months till now that I'm trying to activate it for the first time? (Maybe they changed their minds)?? :) Or, am I doing something wrong.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi veegee

The Product Key on the side of your your tower is for Windows not Office . You would have to purchase a copy of office or purchase just the Product Key for that version of Office you're trying to activate . Which might be Home and Student .

    Product Key

VistaKing: Thanks for the prompt reply. The icon on my desktop I'm sure was for a 60 day trial for Microsoft Office Home & Student 2007. Since I had started to actify it, the icon is of course gone from the desktop now.

Do you mean that I have to purchase a product key in order to try out their product??? Any trial I have ever tried, was just that, a (trial) --try it and then buy or not.
Thanks for pointing out the product key differences--at least I can keep this on file in case of need.
    Thanks.

You should be able to locate the program inside the Start Menu .

Take a look at this PDF file below . You would want to click on the second tab ACTIVATE OR BUY MICROSOFT OFFICE

    http://uk.ts.fujitsu.com/rl/services...ice2007_en.pdf

Convert your trial by using the trial activation reminder message

If you want to convert the trial Office 2007 product to a fully-licensed version of the same product you can use the trial conversion reminders. Trial expiration reminder messages will appear 30 days, 15 days, and each day for 10 days before the trial expires. When the trial expiration reminder message appears, you can convert your trial.

In the trial expiration reminder message, click Convert.

       Note

In the trial expiration reminder message for 2007 Microsoft Office system trial users, click Purchase.

In the Activation Wizard, do one of the following:
If you have purchased a product key (eg boxed software which is the same version as your trial), click Enter Product Key, and then follow the instructions in the wizard.
If you have not purchased a product key and would like to purchase it online, click Buy Product Key Online, and then follow the instructions in the wizard.
Enter the 25-character full-product key, and click Continue.
Click I accept the terms in the License Agreement, and then click Next to install.

       Note

After you open the full product for the first time, a message appears asking you to activate the version. You can activate the full-product version on the Internet or by telephone. When the activation process is complete, the trial is converted to a full-product version.

Convert your trial using the program menus

In some cases you may be able to use the following method to convert your trial to a full-product version.

Open the trial version of Microsoft Office Word 2007, Microsoft Office Excel 2007, or Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007.
Click the Microsoft Office Button .
    Click Program Name Options.
In the Navigation Pane, click Resources, and then click Activate Microsoft Office.
In the Activation Wizard, do one of the following:
If you have purchased a product key from a retailer (eg boxed software which is the same version as your trial), click Enter Product Key, and then follow the instructions in the wizard.
If you have not purchased a product key and would like to purchase one online, click Buy Product Key Online, and then follow the instructions in the wizard.
Enter the 25-character full-product key, and click Continue.
Click I accept the terms in the License Agreement, and then click Next to install.

Trial is obviously free. You can get your trial key online from Microsoft.

Try this link: Download Office Professional Plus 2013 to get started with your trial.

Once trial expires, you'll need to buy a license.
