The download package won't open, don't have the folder, cannot get to the files.

The Office download would need to be extracted to a folder .

Use 7zip to extract the ISO to the folder . Download below

    Download

To Extract the ISO file in 7zip

left click on the ISO file once, then click on the blue “Extract”

Choose a location to extract to using the button with three periods on it in the right hand corner of the window after you click on Extract ( point to the Office2007 folder )

    Click Ok

Try running the Setup.exe as an administrator . Right-click on Setup.exe and choose Run as administrator

We have licked it at last. I ran the setup.exe as Built-in Administrator, and it downloaded almost without any problems. First I only got Excel, so went back and ran repair. That did not work, so I selected the other options I want, and they all downloaded. I only am missing the MSPCORE.DLL that affects the scanner and the imaging. Don't know how much that matters, but I don't know how to download that dll, am a bit wary of dll files. So thank you very much Vistaking for all your patient help. Hurrah!

Nothing to be wary about dll files in Office. Did you get Office installed?

Yes I did, it all works. I just didn't get those dll files, they only affect imagine and scanning. I did a raft of updates for office, but no dll files were supplied in any of those. Don't know if they are very important or not.

Can you add the missing dll files from your other installation?
