Excel 2010 spreadsheet taking up almost 1gb of memory

So I have a .xlsx spreadsheet of about 1.5mb taking up nearly 1gb of memory.

Simple workbook consisting of about 5 sheets with standard formatting and some colors.

I deleted all unnecessary rows and columns, ran 449898_intl_x64_zip hotfix, and rebuilt Excel registry and managed to get down from 1gb to 500mb memory being used.

    Anything else I can try?

    Thanks!

Can you open this file on another W7 computer?

Unfortunately, no as this is the only PC in the household that has Office. Right back up to 1gb after viewing all 5 sheets in the workbook...

Have you tried making a fresh spreadsheet?

Copy/paste the exact info in, then save it and check the RAM consumption.

If the test spreadsheet takes up too much RAM, then delete it & create a new one. This time, type in data that is close to the original spreadsheet. ...check the RAM consumption.
