WORD: "Insert Picture\Link to File..." embeds picture anyway
I have a few Word documents, each a few pages long, each about 30-50K in size.
I've been trying to insert a few illustrations with Insert Picture\Link to File... because I didn't want to physically insert/embed the illustrations, which would make the documents much bigger.
But when I tried this with one illustration, the document ballooned to 500K in size, meaning that the picture got physically inserted (embedded rather than just linked).
It worked fine with another document though. I can't figure out why it happens only sometimes.
Is this a bug in Word?
