Rogue Machine - 3 Attempts to install Office 2007

    Hi all
I don't know whatever happened but on one machine I had real problems attempting to install Office 2007 (Enterprise - VL version - from technet - doesn't need activation but it still wants your key).

Computer was running W7 x-64 ENTERPRISE (also VL version --allows multiple installs).

Got 3 times -- Office 2007 installation has stopped working.

On the 4th attempt I finally got a message this program might not have installed correctly - re-install using recommended settings or program installed correctly.

I clicked the re-install using recommended settings and hey presto it worked even though I haven't a clue what the "recommended settings" were.

I've seen this little popup a number of times and it seems to fix things -- any way to FORCE this popup so the system will automatically apply whatever the "recommended settings" are.

    Cheers
    jimbo

    Hi jimbo,

Not directly AFAIK but you should be able to right click on the install executable and click on Troubleshoot Compatability
