    Document files missing or corrupted

Yesterday I was trying to retrieve documents I had just written and most of the folders are orange. When I try to open them I get this message: "This program is unable to run because of missing or corrupted files. Contact your computer manufacturer." This appears on every document I am trying to open. Is there anyway I can correct this?

Thanks Maxie. I will check out the link. I also have a geek friend who thinks I may have opened a doc. with a virus. So, I'm looking into that too.

Hi Maxie, Whatever Windows has as their AV plus Trend Micro Platinum. As you can tell I'm a novice with computers. Haven't tried any of the others but will look into Malwarebytes Anti Malware. I did check out the link you suggested and I can now work my way around to open my docs. Thanks for all your help.
