Simplest way to copy contents of one MSWord file on top of another

I use Unix and Cygwin and several scripting languages, so complex copying and scripting are easy for me, but I need to figure out a simple process for doing something in Windows without using scripting. This will be for me, but also for many other people who don't use Unix and Cygwin or scripting languages.

I have two MS Word files. I need an easy way to copy the entire contents of one of those files into the other, keeping the name of the destination file.

I don't see a simple way to do this in File Explorer. I could obviously open up both Word docs, delete everything in one, copy everything in the other, and paste into the first. That seems overly painful for what I'm trying to do, considering we may have to do this relatively often.

I would be fine with a freeware explorer addin that made this possible, but I'm not aware of one.
