How do I change the default email address for BCM in Outlook 2010
I have Outlook 2010. Up until a few months ago I used 4 email accounts all of which were .pst files. I also use BCM which was “attached” to one of the 4 email accounts.
After numerous failed attempts with various apps to sync my business contacts, appointments etc., with IOS I finally went with an exchange account for my primary business email. This was definitely the right decision.
When my ISP helped me setup my Exchange account they determined that the best way to go was to have two separate inboxes; one for the exchange email and the second for the 3 .pst emails. So when I open Outlook I see two inboxes – the first is the exchange account and the second inbox collects the 3 pst accounts.
I think it was assumed that BCM would continue to point to the same email address which was now the exchange email.
However, BCM just selected another email address that resides in the .pst section of Outlook and made that the default email. If I try to use the BCM contacts to send email it is sent from the wrong email account. Since we track and link all business communication this is becoming a royal pain not to mention it is confusing to people when they see a different email address for me.
As an FYI calendar, tasks, notes, etc. are fine. It is just the business contacts and their email addresses.
How can I change the default email for BCM to the exchange email?
One other comment; in reading how to correct this I came across an article that there was a way for both the exchange email and pst emails to open in the same folder (one inbox for all four emails). Would this have eliminated my BCM problem and if so is that the easier fix?
