Have you installed the 32 bit (x86) version or the 64 bit version of Office 2013 Pro. If you have installed the 64 bit version there are some problems with VBA. Click the "?" at the RH top of Outlook & on the Help search line type Office 32 bit or 64 bit or something similar & it will show you some of the the things that don't work on the 64 bit version.
    Hopefully this will help.

Thanks Ranger4 and boohbah I installed 64 bit and find it amazing that I can use VBA in Excel 2013 from same suite but not from OUtlook..may ask for my money back if there is no workaround.... just wish I had kept Office 2010 - no probs with that ever

I will try a repair as you suggest I was afraid it would remove the suite- no indication that the repair is hidden

Unless you have a very specific reason for installing the 64 bit version it may be worth installing the 32 bit version instead, as both versions are on the installation DVD. If you do decide to install the 32 bit version as a trial be sure to uninstall the 64 bit version first & then install the 32 bit version, as you can't have both versions on the one computer at the same time.
I have the 32 bit version of Office 2013 Pro & I have found it very satisfactory, although I don't use VBA.
