Newbie - Can I install Office 2003 Directly on win 7 pro?

Thought I would have to set up a virtual machine, and XP mode, but I get the impression that I might be able to install my Office 2003 directly on Windows 7 Pro. Is this correct? Any problems I'm going to run into? ( Will read all 2003 threads in the interim ) Thanks for any input.

office 2003 will run on Windows 7 Pro with no problem but did you know that office 2003 will be unsupported by Microsoft starting April 14, 2014? Which means that you will no longer be able to get security updates for the program and will leave it insecure.

Doesn't Office 2013 run from "the cloud" instead of being installed to a local machine? OP may not have money to upgrade.

yes it runs from the cloud, you can either purchase a product key from a store and then come home and install it online or you can buy a product key and download it at the same time, I prefer to buy my product key from a store because I have a privacy concern giving my credit card information over the internet

you still have to purchase office no matter which way you go but you can use an alternative suite called Libre office 4
LibreOffice Productivity Suite Download » LibreOffice which is totally free and it will open all office files. the only thing you need to remember is when saving a file you need to save it in a doc or docx format or no one else will be able to open it.
I use it and I have it on clients computers who cannot afford to purchase a full suite

Office 2013 does not run from the cloud. Office 365 does but not Office 2013.
