Installing Office Pro Plus 2007 error

I am trying to install office 2007 on my new computer running windows 7 x64. Everytime I run the installation, the screenshot as the attachment shows up. I have the actual CD for office pro plus 2007, and I have the file setup only for office enterprise 2007 as well, neither of which work and give the same error.

any thoughts on how to fix this is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the response; however, I have seen those pages before and have done the steps, but it still does not work.

Does anyone else have problems installing it on Windows 7 64 bit? I have used the same CD on windows XP 32 bit and it installed no problem.

I installed 2007 Pro about 3 weeks ago, had no problems whatsoever. How many times have you tried to install it?

Check Add/Remove Programs, if it's there uninstall it. Then, go into regedit and remove the office folder under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and HKEY_CURRENT_USER. After that, try a fresh install.

Is this a legit copy of Office or a downloaded ISO file?

Also, Is Windows 7 fully updated and patched?
