onenote 2007/ 2010 pen tool issue

Hi, recently i noticed that in Onenote, i can no longer click and use the pen tool. it seems to have been greyed out. This issue occurs on office 2007, and both the 32 and 64bit editions of office 2010. Does anyone have a similar issue? im running win7 pro x64.

tried a few solutions such as cmd "regsvr32 /s inkobj.dll" but nothing seems to work.

    any help is much appreciated.

I had this problem a while back and found when doing a custom install you need certain components in order for it to work. The easy fix is to do a complete install.

I found the solution on this blog: Inking Not Working in Office 2007 with Vista (SP1?) – Part 3

If you go thru the comments you'll see I was able to do custom installs and retain the ink feature by keeping the following components: ClipArt Catalog, Additional Shapes, Line art and the Language settings tool.

Are you using a tablet PC or a Wacom tablet?

Sorry about that. When you run setup you get to point where your choices are "Install Now" and "Customize". If you chose Install now then you have a complete installation.

I was under the impression you either had a tablet pc or a tablet device attached.

Have you installed the latest SP for Office? Im doing alot of searching and reading but most everything dosent apply to your situation. But I'll keep looking.
