Can't install any version of Office on Win 7 Pro x64

Long time browser but first time poster. I'm really struggling to find a solution to an issue and I've never been defeated by Windows before so am hoping some of you guys can help me sort this one out also.

I work in an Architectural office. My office is about to get some new high-spec PC's in a month or so. My current work PC is shockingly slow but I'm about to start using Revit on a very large project on Monday. To fill the void in until then I've offered to bring my brand new home PC (Core i7 3.4, 16GB RAM, 2gb Graphics) into the office for me to use in the mean time, the job would be impossible without this. Yep, poor planning on their part, but we are where we are.

I'd already installed Win 7 Pro x64 setup for home network with a standard single user, myself. Our IT guy (who's only in one day a week) added the work domain and my work login so I could use it on our network and get emails via Outlook etc. The issue is we cannot, no matter what we do, install any version of Office onto the PC. We've tried 2007, 2010 and 2013 versions and none of them will install no matter what we do. He and I have separately tried anti-virus and malware scans, registry cleaners (yep, we are that desperate!), Microsoft Fix It's, resetting Registry values back to default. We've checked Microsoft Installer service is running and configured and pretty much any other posted solution we could Google.

I now have the PC back at home spending my whole weekend Googling to try and sort this out. I'd not installed any MS Office products before but had installed Libre Office. I'm wondering if the fact I had a standard user installed and now also have a domain based login could be causing issues?

The process will start asking for Product Key, then accept terms, click install and install dialog pops up but progress bar doesn't move at all, it waits about 1 min then says it encountered a problem. Same thing with all Office versions.

I'd really appreciate it if you anyone has some nuggets of advice to me help sort this out for tomorrow. I've never had an issue like this before and am totally baffled.

Any help at all very much appreciated .

Did you try the install in SAFE Mode? Also, are you the Administrator? This may impact the situation.

Tried installing normally and 'Run as administrator' but makes no difference. Safe Mode though, hadn't thought of that tbh. Will give it a shot and report back. Thanks.

Nope, installing either 2007 or 2010 from Safe Mode didn't work but for a second it looked like it might. As the install dialog appeared as before this time there was actually one small notch showing on the install progress bar but that was all before it stopped but also when it failed it didn't just hang but stopped and went to a dialog stating that the install had encountered a problem, something which doesn't happen normally. Any more thoughts anyone?

The only thing that you have mentioned is having your computer set up in a work domain situation, which seems be the only difference from any other computer.
This website may help point you in the right direction.

Possible to install English version over German version of Win 7?
Hi there I bought a new Laptop here in Germany which comes, as you would expect, with a German version of Windows. I would prefer an English version though. It appears I'd have to update to Win Ultimate or Enterprise to be able to change the language which is quite expensive. However, I don't...

Free version of Office
I have MS Office 2007. I found out that I can now download Office 2010 free. Why should I continue to use 2007 when I can get 2010 free? If I understand it correctly, the free version does not have all the functionality of the paid which would be no problem for me as don't use all of what I have...

Got the wrong version installed. Need to install correct version
So I bought what I thought what the full version of Windows 7 Pro online for the student discount for $65. I got it all installed and the activation key wouldn't work. Long story short I got the upgrade version on accident. So I got that refunded and I'm about to just go buy Home Premium. I need...

Upgrade version vs clean install version
I need to know if I can use a clean install disk for Windows 7 Ultimate to upgrade from Vista or if I have to use an Upgrade version? I'm leaning towards buying the clean install disk so that if I should loose the hard drive at some future point I could just clean install Win 7 Ultimate from...

Office 2010 Admin Install - TechNet Version
I haven't come across any new info on this, but it seems as though the TechNet version of Office 2010 Pro doesn't allow you to do an admin/network install. The OCT is missing. Am I correct in saying there's no way to download this separately and add it in?
