how can I disable Word 2007 grammar checker?

Hello, the Word 2007 grammar checker is driving me mad. I do not use grammar checkers, always turn them off. This one won't die - I have gone to word options > proofing > gramar only > settings and unchecked every single box. But it still makes stupid blue-underlined grammar suggestions.
Is it broken or do I have to put up with this?
Thank you!
Dave

Thank you GEWB. But I couldn't do what I wanted, which is permanently disable the grammar checker. Instead, I have to instruct it to ignore every single instance of a word which it considers improperly used, there is no option for ignoring all instances of that word usage.
Thanks anyway.

One old trick may or may not work ...

Every time you create a document Word refers to a default template Normal.dotm, if you do a search for this file and open it

modify the Normal style to meet your requirements and if you want set things such as margins etc - resave the file to overwrite the original and the custom settings should apply to all new documents

More on the process Here

Anyone know of a good free grammar checker for Windows Seven? I don't have MS Word or MS Office. It would be best if it worked with a plain text editor.
