Consider this: Two men are talking and one says "My grandchildren think I'm the oldest thing in the world. After 3 to 4 hours with them I believe it too."

Hi there

In what way -- are any of the commands different -- apart from the ribbon I can't really see any difference -- all my stuff runs just fine.

I've been using 2010 long enough I can't remember the differences now (yes, I am getting that old and senile) but I noticed them pretty quickly when I first started using it. They weren't earth shattering and I would have been happy to stay with 2007 but, when 2013 came out, I didn't like how it looked, the hidden price increase (single 2013 license for the price of a 2010 3 pk), and the fact it couldn't be transferred to another computer (M$ had to later back off on that enormous bit of stupidity) so, to ensure I had a version of M$ Office I would like through the end of Win 7's EOL at a decent price, I watched for a sale on Office 2010 3 pk and snagged it while I could.

One improvement I do remember was the choice of three color schemes. I like the so called Black (more of a dark gray); it's so much easier on my old eyes.

Hi there

Black scheme works also on Office 2007 and with CTRL+F1 you can hide most of the ribbon. I believe it's largely a few cosmetic changes - the only thing I've noticed is the Office symbol on 2007 for the File command otherwise the differences are too subtle to notice.

I use Office 2010 on HOST windows systems but was very pleased that I could get Office 2007 to work under WINE on Linux - I gave up trying to get Office 2010 to work on Linux.

I agree about Office 2013 - apart from the more restrictive licences I hat the brilliant white backgrounds and there's almost zero customisations you can do about that.

I tend to use Linux a lot more these days and find I use Windows only as a VM when I'm logged on to say a corporate server.

Cheers
