I have a similar problem but mine won't print from notepad either (I get "invalid handle")
I have two PC's both running Win 7 Pro . Konica Minolta 2500W attached to USB001 on one. I can set up and see the printer on the laptop and print test pages but cannot print from any application . Win2007 Word , Notepad, Explorer etc.
All has been freshly installed and reinstalled in various orders etc .. help please .. look like a Word/Windows problem

Hi John welcome to Windows 7 forums, fill out your sys specs at the bottom of left of your screen and tell us your printer and how its connected so that we can begin trouble shooting.

Xerox 6180 Print Drivers not installing or printing?

If you have a Xerox 6180 or a 6180MFP, we are currently working on a driver update. For a short term solution, please call 1-800-835-6100 and ask for 2nd level software support. We can provide you the 6280 beta print driver that will work for the 6180 series family.

The best time to call for support is before noon Pacific time.

If you prefer not to call in, I can place these beta drivers on our FTP location for Download. Please note that this FTP location will auto flush every 24hours.

I will start placing the driver on the FTP location starting at 7am Pacific on Tuesday November 17th.

I've got exactly the same issue...no idea why. Can print TEST PAGE ...& from Notepad to both printers

but Word 2007....Excel 2007...error message says

" print driver host for 32 bit applications has stopped working "

Totally useless. Tried installing 32 bit drivers as well as 64 bit....as if sharing the printers over the network.

Am downloading Office 2010 beta...last resort.

& M$ wonder why folks buy MacBook Pros or instal Ubuntu next door to their Windows.

What a huge waste of time this is.

hello, do you have the model 6180 MFP-D or 6180 N? I tried the PCL on the 6180 MFP-D and it doesn't work

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

I have the Xerox Phaser 6280DN printer, and I am having the same problems even though I have downloaded the latest Windows 7 64-Bit Drivers (dated 2/17/2010). When I boot my computer, I often encounter the message "print driver host for 32 bit applications has stopped working." My choices are to close or debug the printer driver.

Again, I thank all of you. The problem was that XEROX had a print driver with an error in it. Changing print drivers fixed the problem. They said they should have it fixed by now. Thanks all of you for helping.

Windows 7-64

Hi Everyone, First, I found the information here to be invaluable. Second, I encountered the same kind of problem with a Xerox 6180 DN driver that I was trying to install for Windows 7-64 bit. I also tried the PCL driver on the web site and it also failed to work for me. Then I contacted Xerox and went through all of the diagnostics and mentioned that I had read on a forum that there was a glitch in the driver and that there was a beta driver available that fixed the problem and that it was accessible through second level support. Sure enough, once I obtained the beta driver and it was installed I was able to successfully print in the Office 2007 suite.

Wow this seems to be a real problem. My solution worked for me - choosing the other driver for the Xerox printer - usually there are two on the web site. That said, looking back through the thread, a Xerox Tech gives his email address and says that Xerox is working on a new driver - but it appears that they need several new drivers - I strongly suggest reading his response and following his suggestions and please let me know if that doesnot work.

That said, if your COLOR Xerox printer all of a sudden becomes a black & white only printer after installing Windows 7 (and of course installing the print drivers) - open the Xerox printer properties and try setting the printer to VIVID color - save and re boot, do not print before re booting. This will result in color that you most probably you do not like. After you have the Xerox print driver actually printing in color, then go back into printer properties and set the printer to normal color or realistic whatever you have been using. Then re boot and then your Xerox printer should be now printing in normal color. Please remember to re boot ater setting the printer properties before testing it or it may not work for you - I can tell you from experience. If you get impatient like I did, I had to uninstall the Xerox print driver - yes use regedit to get all of it and re install to get it to finally work. I hope this helps get your printer printing color again.
