Hopefully all repaired now.
As MS keeps updating various programs over time, previous version become unavailable, so it's always best to have a separate backup drive such as an external USB connectible one & these are readily available for a reason cost.
You can use an imaging program such as Macrium Reflect to make a complete image of your main operating system drive & in the event of a failure you can copy the image back again & get yourself under way again in a very short time & be fairly up to date as long as you do regular imaging.
I use Macrium & do an image back up once a week & I have one of the paid versions.
Macrium is available as a free program, but the paid version has a lot more features. A new version of Macrium has just been released & the free version of that will soon be available. Have a look at this website for more info.

Have a look at this one. Scroll down & there is a link to download Office 2010. I have not tried the actual download as I don't need it, but check it out & see how you go.

I've got a legit Office 2010 and tried the above link out of curiosity to see if maybe I could download an ISO anyway.

I entered my valid product key and it generated an error:

"The Office 2010 Product Key provided represents a product which is not eligible for free download."

There was a link in that error message to a "list of eligible products".

I used the link and was shown this list of eligible products:

My version is the third on the list---Home and Student 2010, so I don't know why the problem. Luckily, I don't actually need it as I have my disc.

Office Professional 2010
Office Home and Business 2010
Office Home and Student 2010
Microsoft Outlook 2010
Microsoft Word 2010
Microsoft Excel 2010

Microsoft PowerPoint 2010

@ignatzatsonic.
That's interesting. I had not tried the download as I use Office 2013 Pro. But your reply may pose some problems for possible future reference for those that are looking for new download.
Did you buy Office Home & Student 2010 as an addition or did it come with your computer. Although I don't know why that would cause a problem.

I built the PC and installed my own Office 2007 circa 2011.

In October 2013, I bought Office 2010 Home and Student; MS SKU 79G-02144, 1 user, 3 PCs from B and H Photo in NYC. A totally legit dealer as far as I know.

It installed and activated with no issues at all.

Other than that, I dunno what's going on with that link. Possibly it's out of order. Possibly there are some Office 2010 Home and Student SKUs that don't qualify? Dunno.

It does seem odd & I certainly can't add anything useful.
