Office Pro 2010 reinstall with no disc after clean install of Win 7

Win 7 MBR became corrupt and could not repair
Was able to copy contents of c: prior to performing clean install (thanks Brink!)
Cannot find Office 2010 Pro disc but have key code written down somewhere
Is it possible to get Office up and running again in this situation?

There must be something wrong with your activation code. Are you sure you have typed the code exactly as it written from your written down info, or did you copy the code exactly in the first place.

Where did you get Office 2010 Pro from?. It may not be a legitimate copy.

Was Office supplied by a company that you are or have worked for. If so it may be multi install version which is only valid while you are still employed by that company. If you are still working there discuss this problem with them.

If none of the above apply, then you will probably have to buy a new copy of Office, either 2010 or 2013.

Thanks Ranger
If you had to buy would you go for 2010 or 2013?

I actually have Office 2013 Pro installed & I am quite happy with it. I wanted an installation DVD so as I could not get Office 2010 as it was no longer available I went for 2013. Also it being the latest one available it would run for the longest time before support etc. ends.

From reports I have seen on this website it seems a lot of people prefer 2010, mainly on the basis that you can have coloured menus etc, whereas in 2013 the menu colour options are very limited, but I have got used to that now & it does not worry me.

So it's up to you. As you have been using 2010 you are probably very familiar with it so that might influence your choice.

Of course availability is something else to consider, but the main thing is to make sure you buy from a reputable supplier or directly from MS.

Have you got Office 2010 Service Pack 2 installed. Read through this MS website & there is a link there for SP2, as well as other info that might help.
