That does seem odd. You have Office 2010 installed so it should be showing Mail (Microsoft Outlook 2010) (32 bit). Did you have Office 2013 installed & then uninstall it & then install Office 2010.

You could try repairing Office, to do that open Control Panel, select Programs & Features, scroll down to Microsoft Office 2010, Right click on it & select Change, this will open a couple of Office Repair options to try.

Did you try the Office Repair that I suggested?.

As you have have had various Office versions on your computer it will probably mean having to uninstall all of them & start again. Having more that one version of Office often causes problems & Office can be hard to get uninstalled.

Read through this website & follow the part on Windows 7 for uninstalling Office 2013.

    https://support.office.com/en-us/art...c-2fdf5dbf61d8

To remove Office 2007 & Office 2010 read through this website.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/971179

You need to keep in mind that running any of these Office uninstall tools shown in the websites will very likely remove all your Office versions. So you will need make sure you have an installation DVD to replace Office & I assume this would be Office 2010 from what you have said.

This MS website tells you how to set up your email account with Outlook.com, which was previously Hotmail.com.

Read through the information carefully & follow the directions closely.

    https://support.office.com/en-us/art...rs=en-US&ad=US

The problem with the Youtube video you used is that it tells you how to set up a POP3 account.

    Outlook.com is an IMAP account.
