    Well, my idea half worked.

I settled on modifying Nigel's suggestion.

I used multiple text boxes for the document beginning: text box to contain the image, one or more text boxes as text overlays, followed by a larger clear box to engulf all of the previous. This allows positioning for the beginning of your body text WITHOUT needing to add line break to establish the beginning mline position.

End by adding a text box to contain the last image then add a text box overlay.

    Save, protect and publish.

I saved my test work as a template - if you want it let me know and I'm upload it.

The idea works. But you add something (the part of your post designated from me with dark red colour) which is somewhat difficult for me to understand. So, please upload your temlate for visualization is always superior to explanation with words.

I'll upload the file later this evening.

Question: do you know how to change text box and image properties in Word or should I write up a short tutorial?

Here is the Word.docx version I worked out. Let me know if you would like the template (Word.dotx) file.

I think that I know. See my interpretation of your template. The doc file grows to 1.52 MB and exceeds the limit of 1.5MB, so I saved it as a pdf.

Looks like you understand it. If you aren't sure about setting properties (such as border lines) let me know.

The file I posted is a Word.docx file - if you want a Word.dotx (template file) I'll have to send it as a Zip file as the forum doesn't accept a dotx upload. Let me know.
