Table in Word 2007 has extra space at the bottom- what can I do?

Hi, I am new to this forum. So glad to find it. :)

I'm making a 4-up flyer in Word 2007. I've done this plenty of times before, but this one is a little different. There is a table of 2 rows and 2 columns. Inside each main cell (in the main table), I have also inserted a small 1-row, 2 columns table. with text inside. So far, so good.

The entries in the bottom 2 rows in the main table fit fine, except for a problem in the top two rows. The top two rows in the main table have about 1/2 inch of extra space at the bottom of each cell. This makes it so the table does not fit into a single page.

The margins are set at .5 all the way around.

Anyone know how to get rid of that extra space in the top main row? I've tried everything I can think of.

Right click on one of the cells in your table & select Table Properties, this should open some options. Use the tabs on the top to open the various settings you want. One should show Cell & that shows what alignment is being used, then if you select Options you can change the margins as needed.

This is taken form Word 2013, so hopefully Word 2007 is the same.
