    Word Pad


    I had several documents that I made with Word Pad using Vista and I lost them when I upgraded to W7.

    Is it possible that I can retreive them from the old files??? If it is possible, where would I find them.

    It depends on exactly how you upgraded from Vista

    If you did an in-place upgrade then they should be in the documents folder of the new install

    If you did a custom install and did not choose to format the install partition, you should have a Windows.Old folder at the root of C:.

    Open the Windows.old folder and there should be a complete copy of your user data under the users folder tree.
