Windows 7: Microsoft office 2010 icons missing

Hey guys, This is my first post so if i screw up let me know... this has happened now several times... The first time was when i downloaded my webcam driver from Microsoft, i have a Microsoft VX-3000. BTW i am using Windows 7 ultimate 64bit. I solved it by getting angry backing up and reformatting.

I should explain myself a bit, I am using the Office 2010 Official Beta that i downloaded from the microsoft website.

When I install My webcam driver (this happened again the second time when i install Wizards of the Coast Character Builder) Many of my icons disappear.

Adobe Reader, Skype, Steam, windows live messenger, All my office icons and iTunes

Now normally i just go into Add/Remove and just repair the program and the Icons come back, but for office, they are not... First off when i repair it says the repair failed, when i try to remove or add/remove option, i get the same thing... I was told this is because i am missing the office folder in C:/windows/installer/



Now i have tried one reformating and repairing... it work... but now it won't work... 3rd time it has happened.

I am at the point were system reformat seems like my only option left... what do you guys think, what can i do, i was thinking of installing it on a new harddrive and copying the installer folder and just bringing it back to this harddrive.

Your icons are most likely missing because they were stored in:

C:\Windows\Installer\{GUID}

If a software deletes these folders icons will be missing.

I added a ZIP file with the Icons for Office 2007 in the above Thread.

hi the easy way to repair your microsoft office icons even if by some chance they were deleted. so click start in the search bar type run then click enter when the next box opens type appwiz.cpl hit enter go down to microsoft office click it once then at the top you should see organize, uninstall, change, click on change when it opens click repair once its done reboot and all your icons should be there that's it enjoy.
