    Hi Martin, Welcome to SF,

There is a Microsoft KB for this error Error message when you start Outlook 2007: "Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook Cannot open Outlook window"
The fix they say is just to reboot the system

    Hope this helps

I'm having the same problem: Cannot Open Microsoft Office Outlook.

But the solution that is offered, outlook.exe/resetnavpane, isn't working. When I do Start--Run and type that in, and press OK, I get another message saying "Windows cannot find 'outlook/resetnavpane'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again."

    I also tried outlook/resetnavpane.

Should there be quotes or double quotes around it? Should there be a space before and after the /? I tried many permutations with no success.

Weirdly, this happened to me a few months ago and this solutio worked?

    I'm running Windows 7 x64.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello !!

Just copy this and paste it to your run and press Enter outlook /resetnavpane
There is a space after Outlook then /resetnavpane without space and not quotes.

    Hope this helps,

Actually, after I posted my query, I figured out the proper syntax. I tried it a number of times and, though Outlook did open up partially, it would go Not Responding and lock up

But when I received your response, I tried it again and it worked.

There is once again joy in whoville.

    Must be your magic touch!

    Thanks for your prompt reply.
