Windows 7 - Outlook 2010 - UNUSEABLE/UNPREDICTABLE

I'm going round the TWIST with Outlook 2010

Now on Outlook 2010 when I delete stuff - NOTHING shows in the DELETED ITEMS folder on the Server after I've clicked delete items (I've got a Leave on server until purged however).

On a Laptop I've logged on to Outlook 2007 -- Guess what -- I can see all the deleted mail items with a line through them on the server going back to 29 Dec 2009.

When I purge (on 2007) these are GONE. CORRECT.

So what on EARTH is outlook 2010 doing with the deleted items on the server -- I can't see them anywhere anymore.

Where can I see pending items before they are finally purged.

This behavious is NOT good as I could fill up the mail box with deleted items without knowing that a single item is still on the server.

So that's it

NO MORE OUTLOOK 2010.

I believe MS Office 2010 is still in it's beta form, no?

Yes it is a beta -- but this is quite an error that you woudn't know that had occurred until either or both the following happen.

a) Your isp (imap) mail box gets full

b) you access your email system from another machine running Outlook 2007 (or earlier) having previoiusly deleted email using another machine running Outlook 2010.

Now its quite common for people to use a work computer AND a laptop so the scenario I've tested isn't so unlikely.

Of course a beta will have glitches -- this one appears to be a problem in that you might not even realize there is a problem until your email suddenly stops working (mailbox full) - and you can't do anything about it.

The rest of Office 2010 seems fine however - including msproject and Visio.

I hope MS has recognized, and fixes this issue before the final is released to the public.

I have tested it with my own imap server, and it works just fine on my end.
