    FrontPage 2003

I'm trying to embed a slide show into my web site. I can't get it to play when the page opens. I've tried all the scripts I found on the web. Can anyone direct me to a free site or program that can help me do this, or just point me in the direction of a pre-written script? Thanks....

Does your web site host have Frontpage extensions enabled? That is one possibility. I use FP2003 but have never tried to do what that. But, I don't have FP extensions enabled on my web site.

Yes, it has FP extensions enabled. The site is presently on line. I just want to add a slide show to it.

Like me, want to use Frontpage with Windows 7?

    Hello,
I have Windows 7 Ultimate and have finally found that if you can get Frontpage 2003 and get it to update this version 11.8164.8221 SP3 it works fine. I have been use to using Frontpage 2002 with xp for years.

This is what I've found out to work. Get Frontpage 2003 to update to version 11.8164.8221 SP3.

Yes yes, of course you must have Frontpage extensions installed on your hosted site, that's a given must. We all know this.

I have Front Page 2003 and want to download 11.8164.8221 SP3 but can't find a free download anywhere; all sites want a monthly membership fee and I don't want to go that route. Hope someone can help. I have Win 7 32 bit Ultimate and can't get it to open a file or save a file if I can get it opened. Thanks.

    Try dynamicdrive.com.

Lots of scripts, etc. for slideshows, menu effects, tons of stuff. Java, DHTML, CSS, etc.

I use some of them with our company's website (built with FrontPage 2003). Free to use, but you have to keep the credits part of the scripts in the code (not visible to the viewers of the website though).

I'm still using FP 2003 on Win 7 Ultimate 32bit.

I've got Win 7 Ultimate 32 bit (had 64 and changed) and at one time (two weeks ago) Front Page worked and then it ultimately stopped and no matter what I try, it has incompatibility issues. So frustrating. All I use it for and I use it almost daily is to update my website or create a new page, no graphics to speak of, nothing fancy. I have a tips newsletter that needs new ones often and my other sites get updated once a month. Don't know what to do next. At the moment my laptop has XP and Front Page works on that, but it's slow and the hard drive is going on that. Any other suggestions? Oh tried Windows Virtual PC and wouldn't download, said I didn't have a legal version, which isn't true!

I had a fight getting FP2003 running on 32bit win7 - found the update to 11.8164.8221 is a sub-set of Office SP3 update which updated FP OK then the lock file corrupted a couple of times.. This is a file created when the FP opens and can be deleted and recreated clean and it all now runs. Error message stops you saving a change refers. Hope this helps.. if not suggest delete / re-load.
