MS Office Compatibility pack question

Hello!

I use MS Office 2003. Hypothetically, if I install office compatibility pack and after installation save some *.doc with my word 2003, will that file be saved as a 2007 doc, thus it can't be open with some other word 2003 (without compatability pack installed)?

No, it can open a file that is from office 2007 and save them, but will save new files as 2003 formats.

Tnx. Friend of mine saved a doc file (comp pack installed) which couldn't be opened on some other machine, so we thought perhaps the comp pack is the reason.

Shouldn't be the cause, we run it at work and dont have any issues.

Office XP Professional compatibility with Windows 7?
Hi, I wrote last May asking about Office 2003 compatibility with Windows 7, and decided to install office 2003 after my Office 2007 trial version was up. Well, now it is up, only the install CD I have says "Microsoft Office XP Professional, version 2002." Not the same as MS Office 2003? So...
