Trusted Download Of Office Professional 2003 ?

    Hi,

Would anybody please be able to let me know if there are any trusted downloads of Office Professional 2003 that I can use with my original product key.

I have looked on the microsoft site but it seems to be no longer available for download and I am a bit wobbly about getting a download from some of the file hosting sites in case of "hidden" malware etc.

    Thx

Have you tried contacting Microsoft? they will sometimes have a replacement media option for a nominal shipping charge.

Other than this it may be a case of Technet - if you know anyone that has a Technet subscription and the software is still listed.

Another way of course is to use a copy install media if you can find someone you can borrow it from.

    Barman,

    Thx for the reply.

I read on another Office 2003 topic that the Technet Office 2003 download had to be used with the key provided by Technet at purchase and that it would not install with an original key from another source of Office 2003.

I suppose my only real hope if the above is correct re Technet is to see if I can borrow a CD or get back to microsoft, however, I am not sure if microsoft would provide replacement media after approx 7 years from purchase.

    Thx

Microsoft Technet has downloads of Office 2003 but I think you need the product key on that site.

IMO with a discounted subscription it's DEFINITELY worth subscribing since you can get a whole slew of software - including ALL versions of Windows 7, Servers, SQL, etc etc.

If you have a colleague who is a member get him / her to download -- you are allowed 10 keys for this product.

Another way to do it -- if there are a group of you why not "share" a subscription -- I'm not sure how "legal" this is but so long as the subscription is paid for legally I can't see how joining as "an organisation" could run foul of the agreement -- lots of "organisations" test software.

    Cheers

As far as I am aware the Technet versions of software are standard retail versions and thus should activate with any valid legitimate retail key.

Where there may be issues is that of OEM licences which are specific to OEM copies and will not activate retail copies and vice versa.

As for the replacement media as long as the software is supported by Microsoft the media should be available, (if it was ever an option, of course)

    @Jimbo,

There are corporate memberships available for technet but these are not the same as those available to individuals. They are managed through the partner program, specifically the Gold and Certified partner programs. Software from an individual subscription is not shareable
