Windows 7 starter

Hello, I am new here - I am back to using a PC from a Mac as I have a new netbook with windows 7 starter installed. This site has been fantastic as it's helped me uninstall entirely a lot of preinstalled stuff I didn't want (e.g. Notification Area Icons - Reset). So Thanks!

I had trouble trying to install my old Office 2000. All I really use is Word and am happy enough with Word 2000 as it's very familiar to me so I hoped I could continue to use this old programme and not have to pay for the latest version of Office. Initially I tried to custom install only Word, Excel, Frontpage and Powerpoint and the installation stuck at half-way for over 30 mins so I shut it down. Possibly this was a failure of my cheapish external dvd-rom drive I don't know? But I tried again as there seemed to be no damage done to Windows (no broken bits of Office installed). This time I installed only Word and Excel with no office toolbar or other bits - and they installed ok and appear to work fine so far!
