Error 1402: Not installed for current user--Office 2007
Installed Office 2007 on a new drive running Windows 7...everything was fine for about a week. Now, nothing will open...says the apps "...have not been installed for the current user. Please run setup to install the application." I know that it is a permission related issue--as all of the components run fine if you right click, "Run as Administrator". I have tried everything that I know how to do to restore the permissions, and/or fix the reg keys...but nothing works.
I have downloaded and installed Microsoft Fix It, I have performed a Clean Boot and tried to repair from the DVD (as Admisistrator), and I have messed with granting Admin rights every way that I can think of--but the end result is that nothing works. Microsoft has finally added so much protection to their applications that even legitimate users can't install and use their software!
When I try to repair from my DVD, it tells me "Setup cannot open the registry key UNKNOWN\Components\1FA18F797...Verify that you have sufficient permissions to access the registry..." That ref. folder above does not appear to exist on my boot drive(?).
