Have been running Office 2003 on Win 7pro for months with no problem. Recently I have been having a problem with the Outlook part of office slow to shut down. Actual usage of program has not changed but when I go to close the window, there is a noticeable lag time for it to close. I don't see this with any other of the office apps. Any ideas?
My Dell Studio laptop runs Win 7 pro, 64bits, w/ 4 Gig memory. Core 2 duo @ 2.0 GHz
My C drive uses 64 GB and has 224 GB free. I should note that the slow down only seems to happen after I have an email message being viewed or have just completed writing something using Word. If I open & then close the app w/o doing anything, it shuts down as you expect it to do so normally

I'm definitely not saying that the memory is the source of your problem, but my recommendation for 64-bit systems is a minimum of 8 GB. Win 7-64 bit will run on even less but performance suffers.
Thanks for the suggestion, Karlsnooks. Interestingly, while pulling together the info about my system requested and trying to pin down the exact time and circumstances of the slow-down, I have not been able to recreate the slow-down I first forumed about. Go figure!!! I will consider a memory increase.

The best food for a starving computer is always -- "More ram".
I can understand your evaluation, except, I've friends who are heavily involved in graphics where ram is very important for a performance acceptable in a competitive business world.
