CCleaner has a setting in the options, "Run CCleaner when computer starts". Make sure it's unchecked. If that doesn't work, make sure it's not in the Startup folder in the Start menu.

I guess if it not there, than it is not there. I wonder though why it would run automatically at startup. You can double check in CCleaner itself (see picture).
Alright, I did what Fred told me and the option "Run CCleaner when computer starts" is already unchecked so that's why it's not in the startup menu I suppose.

    Thank you.

I looked and the option "Run CCleaner when computer starts" is already unchecked. I will keep it that way.

    Thank you.

Good idea. They have a new version anyhow. Get it from filehippo.com (best download site).

It seems so. It's not a big deal. Uninstalling it will remove anything telling it to startup, and reinstalling should fix the problem. Like whs said, there's a newer version out anyways, so it's a win-win situation.

Okay, I'm installing version 2.29.1111 from Filehippo right now.

Edit: Installed the new version. I unchecked the Recent Documents and Office 2007. Just so you know the option to "Start CCleaner when computer starts" is still unchecked. I can check it though. But I won't.

    And it's not in the
    msconfig startup menu either.

    Is this okay?

Edit #2: Also, I suppose it's not starting up when I start my computer because I'm not getting any prompting message asking me for permission to start the program. So I suppose that means it's not starting until I click on it myself.

Still wondering why it's not in that startup menu though. Maybe it will there if I enabled it to start up.

That sounds right. Test it by logging out then back in. Does it still start on it's own?

It wasn't starting on it's own before. At least not that know of. When I click on it myself then I get a message asking for permission to start and I must click "Yes". This does not come up when I start my computer.

Thus meaning it does not start on it's own correct?
