Windows 7 - MS Office 2007 Install problem(s)

I had my MS Office installed, but every time I would launch any of the programs it would have to configure it's settings. This was highly annoying, so I looked around online and downloaded and ran three things to try to solve it, all from Microsoft's website.

1. windows installer cleanup utility - office 2000,xp,2003 (msicuu2.exe)

Tried to launch Word, only to have the same problem. So Next I tried:

2. The 2007 Microsoft Office Suite Service Pack 2 (SP2) (office2007sp2-kb953195-fullfile-en-us.exe)

When neither of these fixed the problem, I ran a 3rd tool to uninstall 2007 Office from Microsoft's website.

3. MicrosoftFixit50154 - uninstall office 2007.msi


At this point I was hoping that MS Office was completely gone, and after a shutdown I tried to re-install it hopefully this time when it finished installing it would not have to re-configure itself every time. Even worse!

Now when it is installing, I get this Error:

If I clicked Ignore on this error, the installation continued and then threw up this error:

Ignoring this the installation finished, but I still get the re-configure every time I start up. Any ideas?

Do you have a backup from before the problem started?
