Excel and MS-Money 2005 date and time format display issue

In Excel, dates that were previously (Vista Ultimate) displayed dd-mmm-yy (02-Jun-10) are now displayed dd-mm-yy.
I've checked the short date format, checked all settings in Language and Region - all set to English (Australia).
Same problem in MS-Money 2005
I use Windows 7 Home Premium, and MS-Office Professional 2007.
The short date and time displayed by the computer (right hand corner) are OK.
