Outlook 2010 Duplicate Remover

Hello Everyone,

My Outlook has some duplicates of holidays and other appointments that I have in the future. I am looking for a tool that will automatically delete these on a one time basis, by prompting me. I do not want to have something installed in Outlook tht stays there as a plug-in, since I hope to not have this problem in the future.

Can you please recommend an Automatic Outlook Calendar/Appointment (possibly Tasks) Duplicate Remover?

Thanks for any help!

I don't know of any way of doing this automatically without using a plug-in. If the number of duplicate calendar entries is not too large, you could do it manually using the following approach to make it easier and quicker:
  1. Open your calendar in Outlook.
  2. Choose View > Current View > All Appointments. This will make your calendar appear as a list.
  3. Click on the column heading "Subject" to group entries by what they are called, or click on the column headed "Start" to group them by date.
  4. It should be possible now to navigate to where the duplicates are in the list, and each pair of duplicates will be listed one after the other.
  5. Left-click on the first entry you want to delete, then Ctrl-left click on any others you also want to delete.
  6. When they are all highlighted, right-click on one of them and choose Delete from the drop-down menu.
  7. When you are all done, go to View > Current View > Day/Week/Month (or whichever view you prefer).
Hopefully that should get rid of those pesky dupes reasonably quickly

Thanks, Clunkfish!
I just wanted something that ran once on the PST file, then that's it. Not something that stays installed in Outlook. Also, I have too many duplicates tha it would be very tedious to do them by selecting and deleting. (I have tried viewing them this way already, and they are just not that easy to get rid of that way.)

ITSTH makes a product called, "1-Click Duplicate Delete for Outlook," that sounds like it would do what you want:
=> 1-Click Duplicate Delete for Outlook

I've just purchased it, myself, but haven't installed or used it, yet, so I can't as yet vouch for how well it works.

Thanks a bunch, Diana! What ended up happening is that I somehow was showing 2 Outlook.pst files. So, I "closed" one then placed it in the recycle bin, and everything is working fine now. HOWEVER, I appreciate this information, as I will keep it for future reference.

Best,
