Incredible Excel 2010
Hello,

Hello,

Opened Excel, clicked on Developer tab, clicked on Insert, clicked on CommandButton (ActiveX Control), clicked in a cell to place the button. Saved the file, closed Excel. I'm using 64bit Office 2010.
It took about 1.5 seconds to open the saved file. Subsequent openings took less than that. Seems reasonable to me. How long is "incredibly long" for you? What are your system specs?
I think he got lost. If he returns hopefully he will post his specs. Go 64 bit Office.
maybe he's still trying to open his spreadsheet?
He was having problems opening his Office help files also. Left him a nasty little note about trolls. Have a feeling he is feeling a little embarrassed and doesn't want to slow his face.
Hello,
My godness ! Why you're putting words into my mouth ?
My specs : Windows 7, 32bits. Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 2.1 Ghz
I have both Office 2007 and an evaluation version of Office 2010
The time needed to open this file is 8 seconds (less than one second with Excel 2007). My computer run fast with all softwares. I meet the problem with all my VBA Excel applications where there are ActiveX controls or OleObjects on sheets.
Perhaps there is a conflict between Office 2007 and Evaluation version of 2010 ? Perhaps a specific conflict on my computer ?
Your computer specs certainly seem more than adequate. I agree with your speculation about a possible software conflict somewhere, since Office 2010 works fairly fast for most users. Unfortunately, I don't have any idea about where to look first
Hello,
Thanks for your answers.
I uninstalled 2007, the problem remain. I specify two things: 1. no addin is installed I noticed that the launch of Excel 2010 was very slow if addins was installed, Solver in particular (it's better to install addins if necessary, by code).
2. In spite of the problem of opening files, Excel 2010 is faster than Excel 2007 (in certain cases, more of twice).
