Freemake 4.0 keeps initializing and won't open file

    Freemake 4.0 keeps initializing and won't open file


    I converted VHS tapes to .avi video and have no trouble playing back. When I open the file in Freemake, to edit, the file just keeps initializing. Could it be the file is too large? I have used Freemake, earlier version, in the past to edit relatively short video files.

    Honestly don't remember. I will uninstall and try installing again to see. I keyed in Freemake and saw several free download links. I probably chose one from Freemake.com. I may have to try new download link. Thanks for the info and I will let you know how I make out.

I've used these programs and never had a problem Today, upon launching either one, a crash occurs.:mad: Since it is occurring on both programs, I tend to think the problem is in my computer but don't know what it could be. Any ideas? Thanks,

gang I've used freemake in the past to make backups of my DVD's. this time even though the default language is set to English, in the 'easy' mode it picks Italian, and you don't know that until its done converting! :banghead: never seen the problem before. if i just play the DVD it defaults...
