    Libraries View

    Hey Guys,

I seem to have mucked up the view of my Libraries and I dont know how to get it back to normal.

Here's a couple of pictures to explain what I'm onabout :)

    Correct View

As you can see, It looks all ok to me, theres no:

    My Videos (5)
    D:\Mike

    Incorrect View

I dont want this showing up, it never used to and only started when I buggered around with the Library settings.

Any help would be great :)

    Many Thanks Guys :)

In the left hand panel just click on the slanting black arrow head against "Videos" and it will close the window on the right. What I am seeing in your screenshots looks perfectly normal! I'm not sure what part you say is not normal. If you compare the two left hand panes of your screenshots you will see different folders highlighted in both shots, that's what defines what you see in the right hand pane!
Try highlighting "Libraries" in the left pane having shut down all the other folders and you will see what I mean!. A folder is shut when the little arrow head to the left of the folder name is pointing to the right and is an open lined arrow head as whereas an open folder has a solid black arrow head!

The highlighted boxes dont appear on any other of my folders :)

Both of the highlighted folders are sub folders of "Videos Library" which in turn is a sub folder of "Libraries". Slightly confusingly when you open "Libraries" unless you have changed any names from the default you should see this:
    Attachment 93967

If you click on the circled icon you will see your screen shown in your last screenshot. Whether the two folders are open or not will depend on how you left them when you last closed the libraries down. All that you are showing is perfectly normal and shows that libraries are working as they should.
The last thing I want to do is to discourage you from asking questions here on the Forum but to explain the features of "Libraries" you might like to read the most informative article here:
Windows 7 Libraries Explained – And Why You Want Them
I hope that when ou get hold of the libraaries concept in its entirety you will agree with me that it is one of the best features of Windows 7.
Please come backwith your views on the article.

Ohh yea I love the Library idea and how there working but I dont want the Video Folder to look how it does.
I'd rather have it looking like my first Correct screenshot where it doesnt display the highlighted boxes from my last screenshot :)

I was mucking around with the Library properties and then it changed its view.

Is there anyway I can make the Video folder change back to how the Music folder looks without the highlighted boxes.

OK beginning to see the lighthere. Try clicking the "Arrange by arrow head at the top right of your "Video" windows and choose "Name"
That should give you what you want.
However your Music library shows 2 locations and in Folder view I would expect to see the actual locations like the highlted ones in the other screenshot. Can you click the "2 locations" blue line at the top of your music window to see what it shows as the 2 locations?
