Jpgs for Mac User

I recovered numerous pics off a duff SD disk to my hard drive.

The friend, whose pictures they are, uses a Mac. Is there a application whereby I can can put them on a disk readable by the Mac?

As long as that SD Disk is formatted as FAT or FAT32 (though I believe Macs can read NTFS now), the JPGs shouldn't be a problem. You wouldn't need any special application for your friend to be able to view them.

How would one know how a card had been formatted with nothing but the card to hand?

Simply check its properties. On the General tab, it says what File system: is used.
