I have never used tag&rename, so I don't really know what advice to give you... Try to run the program as admin and see how it goes. Alternatively, you can try a different piece of software, such as MP3tag

In your music library, right click on the column header and select the information you wish to display

your screenshot shows the filename plus some other for not very popular tags

OK I assume that these files have been created before the switch to win7?

What happens if you right click on a file and try to manually edit the file property?

Yeah,i have around 50gb from my music collection all backed up,so they were transferred when i got my new pc from a XP system

and as it stands if i try and change the info in properties of the files,it wont let me even select to add text...im running as Admin as ive been told before that could mess thing up if i didnt have full control.

it's so simple...it has nothing to do with Tag&Rename (a most excellent program which I use for ages)

go into the screen in question and press ONE after the Other the following keys:

    Alt
    V
    D

You simply must have changed it from Detail view to List view at some point

    -DG

It looks like you have permissions issues with the files, (this is a common occurrence with files from earlier OSs).

If you go to the root folder of your collection right click and select properties then security. Now select advanced and then the ownership tab. Use this tab to set the owner on the folder to your user name and ok out of the dialog.

Back on the permissions tab add your username and give yourself full control, OK out of the dialog.

This should than cascade the permissions all the way down the tree and allow you to edit the files, either manually or via a program
