    Zune Going Away?

So I have done some messing around with Windows 8 CP, not to bad other then I noticed that it's new music player is not the Zune. I had done some "Binging" and found a site that claims that MS is doing away with it's zune and moving to a hopefully more profitable player, has anyone else heard this?

I hope not I like how the Zune Software works, I like my Zune pass and further more I hope this means to see a Phone OS update so if I use this new player it will work with my phone cause it currently does not.

The Zune stuff is not going to go away. But it might get a name change...Which sucks cause Zune is a cool name...But you know it has this "bad reputation" as a brand goes.

Which I do not understand why it has this bad reputation cause it is a really good program. IMO it is far better then Itunes even without the zune pass.

I agree. i love the Zune software, and my Zune pass.

Not sure about changing or ending Zune, but they did change the Zune pass subscription terms though.

It used to be the monthly fee included 10 free dowloads, and of course the unlimited dowloads of DRM media.
The new pass works exactly the same, except you do not get the 10 free songs of your choice monthly. You have to purchase all you want to own.

However, for those that had the old plan, so long as you keep it they did not or will not change the original terms. Only new subs have to go to the new plan.
So far they kept that promise. I still my get my 10 free each month :)

theres is only 1 gripe I have about the Zune software, and that is that I wish it had a built in EQ. Not a huge issue, as the soundcard does its job nicely, but it would be nice if was a option.

Beyond that, it wouldn't be that out of the ordinary if they just changed its name to make it seem more appealing.
Remember Kentucky Fried Chicken? People griped that it wasnt really "fried" so they changed the name to KFC and it worked. SAme thing, but people see it differently.
Quite a few have done similar.

Do you all think that when they actually release W8 that there current music player will end up being the zune? I just find it odd how there current music player is not compatible with the WP7 due to the fact it seems like MS is trying really hard to make everything integrate.
