    media Player

A little bit of help and advice please!

Media player has started to download and store pod casts etc, and then they just zip off into into the ether. I've gone down the official help advice and have got to the point of deleting the cache. It won't let me do it and gives a message that there are other programes running using media player. Er, nope there isn't!!

Answers would be good that don't invlove a reinstall!!

    Thanks.

Hi Homer Dog and welcome to the Forum.
Not sure what you mean about the clips "zipping off into the ether"!!!! Can you see them in them in the middle plane? When you say WMP is donloading them, from where? Are they already on your PC?
Also most important, please can you complete your system specs. This does help us to help you, otherwise we fumble in the dark wasting time!

Hi, i never download pods and the like via Wmp so this is only a suggestion.
if you click Organise then options click the rip music tab and look to see where the rip to location is this may be the same for your downloads,
    only a suggestion,good luck.

    Thank you both!

Tried what you suggested boohbah and zip. Thanks anyway.

As to my system mitchell65, it's a Toshiba satellite pro c650d laptop and anymore info will have to wait until I can get the gubbins down from the loft.

What is happenning, is that I download a podcast or several and then open wmp. It shows that the player is updating with the pods and they are then shown in the library, in the right places. They then dissapear in front of my eyes, never to be seen again. If I close wmp, then open again, sometimes it will show that it's updating with the same pods but, when it has finished, they are not shown in the library. I haven't tried ripping a cd yet, as I'm pretty sure the same thing will happen.

Obviously, I can load my mp3 player directly from downloads but, that's not really the point and it's a fag only being able to do one at a time.

I sent you the link. All you need to do is to read the post by Zidane24 in that link and all the detail you need will be shown. No need to go to the loft! Then go to your Control panel and copy and paste

If you use firefox you can change the location your downloads are stored IE it will ask where you want to save it ,then you can navigate to the desired folder.
this way you will know where the location is ,and if you forget you can right click the download on the downloads window and select show file location,
this way you can monitor the folder in real time to see what is going on .
I've not come across this issue before but there are plenty of gurus here who may have an inkling so hang in there we'll get you fixed.

My suggestion is keep WMP away from your MP3 players.
What do you use to download your podcasts, anyways? I manage my mp3 players and download my podcasts with MediaMonkey » Information » Free.

I only use WMP12 for watching my videos, which it handles quite well.

Hi mitchell. have updated my system info. I think it's all there!

Noobvious, have downloaded Media Monkey and I like it a lot. Still want to get to the bottom of the wmp problem though.

    Thanks. H.

There's a ton of things MediaMonkey can do. I liked it enough to purchase the upgrade, and I'm only a part-time worker.

As far as WMP12, I hope someone else can answer your question. Best of luck!
