so i'm at a complete loss as to what could be goin on here. any suggestions?

thanks.

Can you post some screenshots of this? It is only videos that are upside down?

that's just it. it happens in EVERY webcam/messenger/graphics app i try. when it crosses those boundaries, you start thinking something's wrong with the base, in this case, windows 7 is the common denominator in this picture. no pun intended.

What video card do you have? If you have an Nvidia or ATI, check the control center, ATI-CCC or Nvidia-Nview and make sure there is no options to flip videos. There could possibly be an option that is checked that might cause videos to be inverted.

Have you tried windows update drivers? If yes, install your vista drivers.

I would think it is the capture driver for your cam, unless it happens playing videos then i would suspect you installed a codec pack.

It is common for cam apps to include a setting to flip the video if needed.

well, i checked all of the display settings in my nvidia control panel, and they all dealt with the lcd screen, not the webcam. and i looked and looked, and didn't find any webcam control panel. (btw, i have an nvidia 9800M GS card(?) on my laptop.

this really has me stumped.

I'm not 100% sure but installing Shark007.net - Windows 7 Codecs might help. I've had issues before with Video playback being upside down & installing codecs fixed that issue.

Just a thought
