    Codecs ! Shark or K-Lite ?


    Which codecs do you recommend for Windows 7 Proffesional x86 ?
    Shark or K-Lite ?

    Why not install only ffdshow and, if needed, manually register any splitters you might need?

    I do, I've had this win7 install since January and haven't found anything I have needed to install a codec pack for yet.

    I agree!

    I also wonder about these codecs. Why and/or when are they needed?

    Since Win 7 came out Oct 2009, I have never encountered any audio issue with audio/visual files.

    I don't understand why "NONE "
    Depending on the player you use, you can run almost anything without codec's and codecs can cause all sorts of problems.
