WMP12's default view is the Library view, once you set up a playlist you can switch to visualization view manually. That's just how WMP12 works.
However, if you keep playlist files on your computer, assign them to WMP as the default program for handling those files. With a simple double-click in Windows Explorer, WMP should start in the visualization view by default, and show album art for each item in the playlist.

I do not use WMP anymore and have it disabled, so this is coming from a memory of back when I actually used it. As far as I know, there is no other option/setting/"fix" and/or hack that can change this.

It has never started since I had it. How do I get it to start without doing it manually?

Sorry but first you say, "It used to play all the time" now you say "It has never done it" One or the other, which is it? Logic says it can't be both, well not in my world anyway!
