Recently i've download some RMVB files but when i'm using MPCHC to play them, some part or almost the whole video is very choppy. I've installed Sharks windows 7 codec. Does that help? Currently using Windows 7 x32-bit
I personally prefer K-Lite codec. Try that...
Use the basic pack:

are you sure that those files were encoded with a variable bitrate (RMVB) or multiple constant bitrate profiles (RM)? The latter happens to be choppy as a result of compression, but it can happen to RMVB files just the same. Make sure this isn't the case first before you install/uninstall anything. Besides, you don't need the full garbage package K-Lite installs since you already have Shark's codecs, instead you can simply download Real Alternative.
Open MPC-HC and go to View -> Options -> Playback -> Output
You will see three different modes for rendering Real Media files (by default is should be set to System Default). Try flipping through the two DirectX renderers to see if the playback improves, and make sure that the renderer for DirectShow Video is either EVR or EVR Custom Preset.
hmm my previous forum was i can't play mp4 files so people here suggested me to use Sharkscodecs so i did and it did work for mp4 files.

Gornot. Hi. K-Lite is an excellent codec package. You are right the full package is waaaay to much, which is why I suggested the basic pack (the lightest one).
As far as VLC, it will play most formats, even broken files.
K-Lite was designed for people who do a lot of video editing with "external" codecs (from the software package of choise's point of view). Most software products nowadays (especially open source ones and those that I have used) require additional downloads of codecs for use internally. Besides, as Shark says himself, his codec pack does not collide with the codec support implemented into Win7, making K-Lite especially useless and harmful (at least to me), regardless whether it is a basic pack or the mega pack and anything in between. :)
VLC is awesome, though, of course,but since I do a lot of video encoding, I need more. And I have used MPC for years, so I'm much more used to it than VLC.

I know how VLC works for every format, but i don't know why when i fast forward the rmvb files, hmm how do i say, it's like the whole video turns a little colourful and takes some time for the video to actually resume to its normal colour. i remembered last time when i tried using VLC, VLC is really perfect but i was used to MPCHC. Just curious of this question (:
